Plone (band)
Plone was a British electronic music duo, known for their distinctive blend of melodic electronica, psychedelic soundscapes, and experimental pop. Formed in Birmingham, England in the late 1990s, Plone consisted of members Victoria Stirling and Mark Cancellara.
Their music often drew comparisons to artists like Stereolab, Broadcast, and the early work of Aphex Twin, but Plone carved out their own unique niche with their quirky instrumentation, vintage synthesizer sounds, and dreamlike atmospheres. They released several EPs and two full-length albums, "For Beginner Piano" (1999) and "Plots" (2001), both on Warp Records.
Plone gained a dedicated following for their innovative sound and captivating live performances. Despite critical acclaim, the band went on indefinite hiatus in the early 2000s, with members pursuing other musical projects. Their music continues to be appreciated for its creativity and influence within the electronic music scene.
