George Osmond (politician)

George Osmond (born October 16, 1945) is a Canadian politician who served as a Member of the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly for the district of Waterford Valley from 2003 to 2011. He represented the Progressive Conservative Party.

Osmond was first elected in the 2003 general election and re-elected in the 2007 general election. During his time in the House of Assembly, he served in various roles, including Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Environment and Conservation. He was defeated in the 2011 general election by Tom Osborne of the Liberal Party.

Prior to entering provincial politics, Osmond worked as a businessman. He has also been involved in community organizations and volunteer work. His political interests included environmental issues and economic development within his district.
