George Hope (footballer, born 1954)

George Hope (born 12 January 1954) is a Scottish former professional footballer. A midfielder, Hope played primarily for Clydebank, where he made over 200 league appearances.

Career

Hope began his career with Dumbarton, making a handful of appearances before moving to Clydebank in 1975. He became a mainstay in the Clydebank side, playing regularly throughout the late 1970s and early 1980s. He was known for his industrious play and contribution to the team's midfield. He eventually left Clydebank in 1984.

After leaving Clydebank, Hope joined Stenhousemuir. He contributed to their team before retiring from professional football.
