Frank Clarke (American football)

Frank Clarke (born March 9, 1934, in Glen Rogers, West Virginia, died December 28, 2021, in Dallas, Texas) was an American football wide receiver who played professionally in the National Football League (NFL) for the Cleveland Browns (1957-1959) and the Dallas Cowboys (1960-1968).

Clarke played college football at the University of Colorado. He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the 5th round of the 1957 NFL Draft.

Primarily known for his time with the Dallas Cowboys, Clarke was a key part of their early success. He was known for his sure hands and ability to make tough catches. He played alongside quarterbacks Don Meredith and Craig Morton. Clarke's best season was 1967, when he caught 41 passes for 742 yards and nine touchdowns. He retired after the 1968 season.

After his playing career, Clarke was involved in broadcasting, providing color commentary for Dallas Cowboys radio broadcasts. He was also involved in real estate.
