Francis Meli (bishop)

Francis Meli (born December 30, 1939, died January 3, 2023) was a Catholic prelate from South Africa. He served as the Bishop of Queenstown (Komani), Eastern Cape, from 1984 to 2009.

Meli was ordained a priest on July 6, 1963. He was appointed Bishop of Queenstown on November 9, 1984, and was consecrated on February 23, 1985. He retired from his position as Bishop of Queenstown on November 7, 2009. During his tenure, he was involved in various initiatives related to social justice and the development of the Catholic Church in the region.

He was known for his dedication to serving the people of his diocese and his commitment to promoting Catholic education and pastoral care.
