Shyra Ely
Shyra Ely (born August 9, 1983) is a retired American professional basketball player. She played in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) for several teams, including the Connecticut Sun, Chicago Sky, Indiana Fever, and Seattle Storm.
Ely was a standout player at the University of Tennessee, where she played under coach Pat Summitt and helped the Lady Volunteers win national championships in 2007 and 2008. She was drafted by the Connecticut Sun in the second round of the 2005 WNBA Draft.
Throughout her WNBA career, Ely was known for her versatility, athleticism, and defensive skills. She primarily played as a guard or forward. After her playing career, she has been involved in coaching and mentoring aspiring basketball players.
