Francis Blake Delaval (Royal Navy officer)

Francis Blake Delaval (baptized 25 January 1727 – 16 November 1771) was a British Royal Navy officer.

Delaval was born into a prominent Northumberland family. He was the son of Francis Blake Delaval of Seaton Delaval Hall and Rhoda Apreece. His brothers included Sir Francis Blake Delaval, a Member of Parliament, and Edward Delaval, a chemist and Fellow of the Royal Society.

He entered the Royal Navy and rose through the ranks, eventually achieving the rank of captain. He commanded several ships during his naval career. Details regarding specific commands and actions are scarce, however, he is noted to have been a competent officer respected by his peers.

Delaval did not achieve significant historical fame or command major fleets during his service. He died in 1771.
