Dacia Valent

Dacia Valent (born July 12, 1963, in Alexandria, Egypt, died February 18, 2015, in Rome, Italy) was an Italian political activist and politician. She was known for her anti-racism advocacy and her work in promoting the rights of immigrants and marginalized communities in Italy.

Valent was elected as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) in 1989, representing the Federation of Green Lists. During her time in the European Parliament, she focused on issues such as immigration, human rights, and environmental protection. She was a vocal critic of racism and discrimination within the European Union.

Valent was a prominent figure in the Italian anti-racism movement and played a key role in raising awareness about the challenges faced by immigrants and minorities in Italy.
