John H. Boyes

John H. Boyes (1910-1993) was a British philatelist who specialized in the stamps and postal history of Jamaica. He was a fellow of the Royal Philatelic Society London and a prominent figure in the Jamaican philatelic community. Boyes is best known for his extensive research and publications on Jamaican stamps, particularly the issues of King George V and King George VI. His work is considered a definitive resource for collectors and researchers in this area. He authored numerous articles and handbooks, contributing significantly to the understanding and appreciation of Jamaican philately. He also served as an expert consultant, authenticating and appraising stamps for collectors and auction houses.
