Francesco Verde (bishop)
Francesco Verde (born 12 November 1957) is an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church, currently serving as the Bishop of Castellaneta since November 23, 2013.
Verde was born in Lauro, province of Avellino, Italy. He was ordained a priest on July 18, 1982, for the Diocese of Nola. Prior to his appointment as bishop, he served in various pastoral roles within the Diocese of Nola, including parish priest and holding positions in diocesan administration.
He was appointed Bishop of Castellaneta by Pope Francis on November 23, 2013, succeeding Pietro Maria Fragnelli. He was consecrated as bishop on January 25, 2014, by Beniamino Depalma, Bishop of Nola, with Claudio Maniago, Bishop of Castellaneta emeritus, and Francesco Marino, Bishop of Avellino, serving as co-consecrators.
