Forte (horse)
Forte is an American Thoroughbred racehorse known for his performances as a two-year-old and three-year-old. He was bred by South Gate Farm and is owned by Repole Stable and St. Elias Stable. He is trained by Todd Pletcher.
Forte rose to prominence in 2022, winning several Grade I stakes races, including the Breeders' Futurity and the Hopeful Stakes. These victories earned him the Eclipse Award for Champion Two-Year-Old Male.
In 2023, Forte was considered a leading contender for the Kentucky Derby. However, he was scratched from the race on the morning of the event due to concerns raised by the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission veterinarians. He was subsequently also scratched from the Preakness Stakes.
Forte eventually returned to racing later in 2023, participating in other Grade I races. He is regarded as a horse with considerable talent and potential, though his career has been marked by both significant wins and unexpected setbacks. His pedigree and race record suggest a future as a potential stallion.
