Femtech

Femtech, often stylized as FemTech, is a portmanteau of "female" and "technology" that refers to technology-enabled products and services focused on women's health. This encompasses a broad range of areas including, but not limited to:

• Menstrual health: Apps and devices for tracking periods, predicting ovulation, and managing menstrual symptoms.
• Fertility: Technologies assisting with conception, in vitro fertilization (IVF), and fertility tracking.
• Pregnancy and nursing: Wearable devices, apps, and telehealth services supporting prenatal care, monitoring fetal health, and assisting with breastfeeding.
• Sexual wellness: Products and services addressing sexual health, intimacy, and pleasure.
• Menopause: Solutions addressing the symptoms and challenges associated with menopause and perimenopause.
• General healthcare: Technologies addressing conditions that disproportionately affect women, such as osteoporosis, autoimmune diseases, and pelvic floor health.

The Femtech industry aims to address unmet needs in women's healthcare by leveraging technology to provide more personalized, convenient, and effective solutions. It seeks to destigmatize conversations around women's health issues and empower women to take control of their health and well-being. The industry has experienced significant growth in recent years, driven by increasing investment and a growing awareness of the importance of addressing women's specific health needs.
