Fatboy (album)
Fatboy refers to the debut album by American country music singer-songwriter Joe Nichols. It was released in 2002 by Universal South Records. The album produced two singles: "The Impossible" and "She Only Smokes When She Drinks," both of which reached the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks (now Hot Country Songs) charts. The album's title is a nickname given to Nichols by his father. The musical style is rooted in traditional country sounds, leaning towards neotraditional country with influences of honky-tonk and Western swing. While the album garnered positive reviews for Nichols' vocal performance and the traditional country sound, it did not achieve significant commercial success, peaking at number 47 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. The album's track list includes a mix of original compositions and covers of songs written by other artists.
