Mis-Teeq

Mis-Teeq were a British R&B, garage, and pop girl group, consisting of Alesha Dixon, Su-Elise Nash, and Sabrina Washington. Initially a quartet with Zena McNally, they achieved mainstream success in the UK and Europe between 2001 and 2005.

Mis-Teeq were known for their distinctive sound, blending R&B harmonies with UK garage beats, a popular genre at the time. Their music often incorporated rapping by Alesha Dixon, a feature that distinguished them from other girl groups.

Their debut album, Lickin' on Both Sides, released in 2001, spawned several hit singles, including "Why," "All I Want," and "One Night Stand." The album was a commercial success, establishing Mis-Teeq as a major force in the UK music scene.

They followed up with their second album, Eye Candy, in 2003, which continued their success with singles like "Scandalous," "Can't Get Enough," and "Style." "Scandalous" proved to be their biggest international hit, reaching the top 10 in several European countries and charting in the United States.

Despite their success, Mis-Teeq announced their split in 2005, citing individual artistic ambitions. Following the breakup, Alesha Dixon pursued a successful solo career, primarily in television and music, while Su-Elise Nash and Sabrina Washington embarked on less commercially successful solo ventures.

Mis-Teeq's contribution to British popular music is significant, particularly their role in popularizing UK garage-influenced R&B. Their music continues to be played and remembered by fans, solidifying their legacy as one of the most successful British girl groups of the early 2000s.
