Fakes (TV series)

Fakes is a Canadian teen crime drama television series that premiered on CBC Gem on September 1, 2022, and internationally on Netflix on September 2, 2022. The series was created by David Turko and developed by Shannon Garland.

The series follows the story of two best friends, Zoe Christensen and Rebecca Li, who accidentally build a thriving fake ID empire. Each episode is told from alternating perspectives of Zoe and Rebecca, showcasing their individual motivations and the evolving dynamics of their friendship as their illegal business grows and attracts unwanted attention. The show explores themes of teenage ambition, moral compromise, the complexities of female friendship, and the potential consequences of pursuing wealth and popularity through illicit means.
