Ernie Jones (golfer)
Ernie Jones (born August 26, 1937) is an American professional golfer. He is best known for his long and successful career on the Senior PGA Tour (now PGA Tour Champions).
Jones turned professional in 1960 and joined the PGA Tour. While he did not win any official PGA Tour events, he had several strong finishes.
His career significantly took off when he became eligible for the Senior PGA Tour in 1987. He won five Senior PGA Tour events between 1987 and 1992, including the 1990 Mazda Senior Tournament Players Championship, one of the senior tour's major championships. He also finished second in the 1989 U.S. Senior Open.
Jones was known for his steady play and consistent performance throughout his career.
