Enes Alić
Enes Alić (1965 – 2020) was a Bosnian writer, journalist, and translator. He was born in Bišće, near Rožaje (present-day Montenegro) and died in Sandžak. He is considered a significant figure in contemporary Bosnian literature.
Alić's work often explored themes of identity, displacement, and the complexities of life in the Sandžak region, a historically contested area straddling the border between Serbia and Montenegro. His writing style is characterized by its lyrical prose and insightful observations of human nature.
He is the author of several novels and short story collections, including:
- Skice za portret (sa margine) (Sketches for a Portrait (from the Margin))
- Knjiga o ademu (The Book of Adam)
- Balada o Bohoreti (The Ballad of Bohoreta)
His works have been translated into several languages. In addition to his literary work, Alić was also a respected journalist and translator. He contributed to various newspapers and magazines throughout his career.
