Emily Maguire (writer)
Emily Maguire is an Australian author. She is known for her novels exploring complex social issues such as mental illness, homelessness, and drug addiction, often through the lens of intimate personal relationships.
Maguire holds a PhD in Creative Writing from the University of Western Sydney. She is the author of several novels, including Taming the Beast (2004), The Gospel According to Luke (2006), Smoke in the Room (2009), An Isolated Incident (2016), and Love Objects (2021). Her work has been shortlisted for numerous literary awards, including the Miles Franklin Literary Award.
In addition to her fiction, Maguire has also written non-fiction essays and articles on topics such as class, feminism, and politics.
