Nob Hill (film)
Nob Hill is a 1945 American Technicolor historical musical film directed by Henry Hathaway. It stars George Raft, Joan Bennett, and Vivian Blaine.
The film is set in San Francisco's prestigious Nob Hill district around the turn of the 20th century. It tells the story of Tony Angelo (Raft), a saloon owner who falls in love with Harriet Carruthers (Bennett), a wealthy socialite involved in missionary work. The film explores the clash of cultures and social classes as Tony tries to win Harriet's affection despite the objections of her social circle and his own rough-and-tumble lifestyle. Lotta Crabtree (Blaine), a popular entertainer, provides musical numbers and support for Tony throughout his romantic pursuit.
The film features musical numbers, including "I Walked In With You in My Dreams," "Every Goodbye Ain't Gone," and "Lily Belle." It was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Color Cinematography.
