Ed Kelly (Illinois politician, born 1924)

Ed Kelly (1924 – July 29, 2010) was an American politician from Illinois. He served as a Democratic member of the Illinois House of Representatives from 1977 to 1991, representing the 15th district. Prior to his service in the Illinois House, Kelly served on the Thornton Township Board of Trustees. Kelly was also a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army. He was known for his focus on labor issues and representing the interests of working-class families in his district, which included portions of the south suburbs of Chicago. After leaving the legislature, Kelly remained active in local Democratic politics. He passed away in July 2010 and was survived by his wife, Eleanor, and several children and grandchildren.
