Dorm (film)
Dorm (also known as Dek Hor, เด็กหอ in Thai, which translates to "dormitory") is a 2006 Thai horror film directed by Songyos Sugmakanan. The film revolves around a young boy named Chatree (Chatchawit Techarukpong) who is sent to a boarding school by his father after misbehaving.
Adjusting to life at the isolated and unsettling school, Chatree is haunted by strange occurrences and the presence of a ghostly boy named Vichien (Sirachuch Chienthaworn), who seems to be perpetually reliving a tragic event. Through interactions with Vichien and investigations into the school's history, Chatree gradually uncovers a dark secret surrounding Vichien's death and the circumstances that led to it.
The film explores themes of loneliness, guilt, the lingering effects of past traumas, and the difficulties of childhood. It is notable for its atmospheric cinematography, suspenseful storytelling, and use of Thai cultural elements within the horror genre.
