Detling

Detling is a village and civil parish in the Maidstone district of Kent, England. It is located on the slope of the North Downs, approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) northeast of Maidstone.

The village is historically significant, having been the site of a major battle during the Peasants' Revolt in 1381, where rebel forces led by Wat Tyler clashed with the royal army. A memorial stands near the site of the battle.

The parish church, dedicated to St. Martin of Tours, is a Grade I listed building dating back to the Norman period, with subsequent additions and alterations over the centuries.

Detling Hill, part of the North Downs, offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The annual Detling Agricultural Show, a large county show, is held near the village.

Detling is located near the M20 motorway, providing easy access to London and the Channel Tunnel.
