Dennis King (actor)

Dennis King (November 2, 1897 – May 21, 1971) was an English actor and singer best known for his roles in musical theatre.

Born in Coventry, England, King began his career on the London stage. He achieved international fame for his portrayal of François Villon in the original 1925 Broadway production of The Vagabond King. He repeated the role in the 1930 film adaptation.

King enjoyed a long and successful stage career, appearing in numerous Broadway productions including Rose-Marie, The Three Musketeers, and I Married an Angel. He was known for his strong baritone voice and charismatic stage presence. He also appeared in a number of films and television shows throughout his career.

His other notable stage credits include Romance and Helen Goes to Troy.

Dennis King died in New York City in 1971.
