Deïmachus (mythology)

Deïmachus is a name associated with several figures in Greek mythology:

• Deïmachus, Son of Neleus: He was one of the sons of Neleus, king of Pylos, and Chloris. He was a brother to Nestor, Pero, and several other siblings. Deïmachus, along with his brothers, was slain by Heracles during Heracles' sack of Pylos, except for Nestor, who was away at the time.

• Deïmachus, Father of Enarete: This Deïmachus was the father of Enarete, the wife of Athamas and mother of Helle and Phrixus. He is generally considered to be a Thessalian. This Deïmachus is sometimes confused with other figures who are said to be the father of Enarete, such as Aeolus.

• Deïmachus, an Argonaut: He was one of the Argonauts who sailed with Jason in search of the Golden Fleece. He was from Tricca in Thessaly and was the son of Eleon.
