David Healy (footballer)

David Healy (born 5 August 1979) is a Northern Irish former professional footballer and current manager of Linfield.

Healy played as a striker and is best known for his goalscoring record for Northern Ireland, for whom he is the all-time record goalscorer with 36 goals in 95 appearances. He also holds the record for most goals scored in a single UEFA European Championship qualifying campaign, netting 13 goals in the Euro 2008 qualifiers.

At club level, Healy played for a number of teams including Manchester United, Preston North End, Leeds United, Fulham, Sunderland, Ipswich Town, Rangers, Doncaster Rovers, and Bury. While often a prolific scorer at international level, his club career was more inconsistent, with spells of success punctuated by periods of limited playing time.

He was appointed manager of Linfield in October 2015 and has led the club to multiple Irish Premiership titles and other domestic trophies. He is considered a successful manager in Northern Irish football.
