David Graham (photographer)
David Graham (born 1952) is an American photographer known for his documentation of the overlooked and often eccentric aspects of contemporary American culture. His work frequently captures roadside attractions, quirky architecture, and vernacular landscapes, often with a sense of humor and irony.
Graham's photographs explore the themes of Americana, consumerism, and the changing face of the United States. He employs a straightforward, documentary style, typically using color film and a medium-format camera. His images are often described as deadpan and objective, allowing the subject matter to speak for itself.
He has published numerous photographic books, including "American Beauty" (1987), "Land of Plenty" (1995), "Another America" (1998), and "The New American Landscape" (2003). His work has been exhibited widely in galleries and museums, and is held in the collections of major institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
