William Bailey (cyclist)

William Bailey (1888 – 1971) was a British track cycling champion who competed in the early 20th century. He achieved significant success at the amateur level, primarily as a sprinter.

Bailey represented Great Britain at the 1908 Summer Olympics held in London. He won two silver medals in the individual sprint and the tandem sprint events. In the individual sprint, he lost to Victor Johnson in the final. In the tandem sprint, he partnered with fellow British cyclist, Charles Kingsbury, losing to Maurice Schilles and André Auffray of France.

Beyond the Olympics, Bailey won multiple national championships. He was a prominent figure in British cycling during his competitive years and remained involved in the sport after his retirement.
