Darkdevil
Darkdevil is the alias of several fictional characters appearing in comic books published by Marvel Comics. The most prominent Darkdevil is Reilly Tyne, who possesses attributes of both Daredevil and a demonic being.
Reilly Tyne (Darkdevil)
Reilly Tyne is the son of Ben Reilly (the Spider-Man clone) and Elizabeth Tyne. He was spiritually bonded with Zarathos, a demon, during his prenatal development. Due to complications and the potential threat Zarathos posed, Dr. Octopus intervened, placing Reilly Tyne in suspended animation until a means of safely extracting Zarathos could be found.
Years later, the suspended animation was interrupted. Reilly's connection to Zarathos granted him powers similar to both Daredevil and Ghost Rider. He adopted the persona of Darkdevil, operating as a vigilante in New York City, particularly in the territory of Hell's Kitchen. His powers include enhanced strength, speed, agility, senses mirroring Daredevil's radar sense, and the ability to generate and control hellfire.
Reilly Tyne's activities as Darkdevil often involved confrontations with demonic forces and various criminals. He occasionally teamed up with other superheroes, including Spider-Man. He struggles with the influence of Zarathos and attempts to control the demonic entity within him, striving to use his powers for good.
Other Appearances as Darkdevil
While Reilly Tyne is the best-known character to use the Darkdevil moniker, it should be noted that in an alternate reality featured in the What If...? series, Daredevil's son became Darkdevil. This version possessed a costume reminiscent of Daredevil's and similar powers but was not directly connected to Zarathos. The connection with Zarathos and the distinct red and black costume distinguishes Reilly Tyne's Darkdevil from other possible iterations.
