Daniel Mace (politician)
Daniel Mace (1811 – 1888) was an American politician and a U.S. Representative from New York.
Born in Newburgh, Orange County, New York on July 5, 1811, Mace attended the common schools and engaged in mercantile pursuits. He served as Supervisor of Newburgh from 1843 to 1847.
Mace was elected as a Whig to the Thirtieth Congress (March 4, 1847 – March 3, 1849). He declined to be a candidate for renomination in 1848.
Following his term in Congress, he engaged in banking and railroad enterprises. He served as president of the Newburgh National Bank and was also a director of the Erie Railroad.
Daniel Mace died in Brooklyn, New York, on November 21, 1888. He was interred in Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor, New York.
