Re-Animator (band)
Re-Animator were an Australian thrash metal band formed in Brisbane in 1987. They are primarily known for their fast tempos, aggressive riffs, and politically charged lyrics, often dealing with social commentary and anti-establishment themes. The band's core members included Steve Ravic on vocals and guitar, and Mark "Gus" Agius on drums.
Re-Animator released several albums and EPs throughout their career, establishing a cult following within the thrash metal scene, both in Australia and internationally. Some of their notable releases include their debut album Condemned to Eternity (1989) and Laughing (1991).
The band toured extensively, both domestically and internationally, sharing stages with other prominent thrash metal acts. While not achieving mainstream commercial success, Re-Animator maintained a dedicated fanbase due to their energetic live performances and uncompromising musical style.
Re-Animator disbanded in the mid-1990s. While there have been occasional reunion performances, the band has remained largely inactive since then. Their music continues to be appreciated by fans of classic thrash metal.
