DISAMATIC

DISAMATIC is a trade name for a type of automatic flaskless molding system used in foundries. It is a high-speed, vertical molding process commonly employed for the mass production of small to medium-sized castings.

The DISAMATIC process involves creating molds directly in a continuous, tightly packed line of sand, eliminating the need for traditional flasks. Molten metal is then poured into the molds as they move along the line. After cooling, the castings are automatically separated from the sand, which is then recycled back into the system.

Key characteristics of DISAMATIC molding include:

  • Flaskless Molding: No flasks are used to contain the sand during molding and pouring, resulting in material and labor savings.
  • High Production Rates: The automated nature of the system allows for very high production rates, making it suitable for large-scale manufacturing.
  • Vertical Parting Line: The molds are formed with a vertical parting line, which simplifies the molding process and allows for complex casting designs.
  • Sand Recycling: The sand used in the molding process is continuously recycled, minimizing waste and reducing material costs.
  • Automation: The entire process, from mold making to casting extraction, is highly automated, reducing the need for manual labor.

The DISAMATIC system is widely used in foundries producing a variety of castings, including automotive components, machine parts, and agricultural equipment. The process offers advantages in terms of speed, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness compared to traditional molding methods, particularly for high-volume production runs.
