Czorsztyn

Czorsztyn is a village located in southern Poland, in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship (Małopolskie województwo), Nowy Targ County, within the Gmina Czorsztyn (Czorsztyn Commune). It is situated on the northern shore of Lake Czorsztyn (Jezioro Czorsztyńskie), near the Pieniny National Park.

History:

Czorsztyn boasts a rich history, dating back to the medieval period. The most prominent feature of the village is the ruins of Czorsztyn Castle (Zamek Czorsztyński), a medieval fortress strategically positioned on a hilltop overlooking the Dunajec River gorge.
