Cordenons

Cordenons is a town and comune (municipality) in the Province of Pordenone in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located about 90 kilometers (56 miles) northwest of Trieste and about 6 kilometers (4 miles) north of Pordenone.

The town lies on the Noncello River. Its economy is based on industry, particularly paper manufacturing, construction, and services.

Cordenons borders the following municipalities: Pordenone, San Giorgio della Richinvelda, San Quirino, Vivaro, Zoppola.

Historically, the area was inhabited since Roman times, although the modern town developed later. The name likely derives from "Curtis Naonis," referring to a court or estate near the Noncello River.

Significant landmarks include the Parish Church of Saint Peter and Paul (Chiesa Parrocchiale dei Santi Pietro e Paolo) and various examples of Venetian Villas scattered throughout the countryside.
