George Bassett (Australian politician)

George Bassett (1907-1993) was an Australian politician who served as a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly, representing the seat of Liverpool Plains from 1950 to 1953. He was a member of the Australian Labor Party (ALP).

Bassett was born in Willow Tree, New South Wales. Prior to entering politics, he worked as a railway employee. He entered Parliament at the 1950 election, winning the seat of Liverpool Plains. He held the seat for one term, losing to Frank O'Keefe of the Country Party at the 1953 election. After his parliamentary career, Bassett returned to work in the railways.
