Conlig

Conlig is a village and civil parish in County Down, Northern Ireland. It is situated approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) east of Bangor and is within the Ards and North Down Borough Council area.

The name "Conlig" is derived from the Irish Con Liag, meaning "stone of the hound" or "hound's stone". This likely refers to a standing stone or other significant rock formation that was associated with a local legend or belief.

Historically, Conlig was a rural agricultural area. In more recent times, it has become a residential area, with many residents commuting to work in Bangor and Belfast.
