Cherushii

Cherushii (1983 – 2016), born Chelsea Faith Dolan, was an American electronic music producer, DJ, and educator based in San Francisco, California. She was known for her upbeat, melodic house and techno tracks, characterized by their joyful and energetic qualities.

Dolan began her musical career in the early 2000s, playing keyboards and singing in various bands. She later transitioned to electronic music production, adopting the moniker Cherushii. Her early influences included classic house, disco, and synth-pop.

Cherushii released music on labels such as 100% Silk, Run Riot, and Night Vision, and gained recognition for her distinct sound and live performances. She was a prominent figure in the San Francisco electronic music scene, often performing at local clubs and events. In addition to her production and DJ work, she was also an educator, teaching music production and DJing skills to aspiring artists.

Tragically, Cherushii died in the Ghost Ship warehouse fire in Oakland, California, on December 2, 2016. Her death was a significant loss to the electronic music community, and she is remembered for her talent, positive energy, and contributions to the Bay Area music scene. Her music continues to be celebrated and enjoyed by fans worldwide. A compilation album of her unreleased tracks, titled "Memory of Water," was released posthumously.
