Angaha (ʻEua)

Angaha is a small village located on the island of ʻEua in the Kingdom of Tonga. ʻEua is the oldest island in the Tongan archipelago and lies to the east of Tongatapu, the main island. Angaha is situated on the eastern side of ʻEua.

The village is characterized by its rural setting and close connection to the natural environment. The economy of Angaha, like much of ʻEua, is primarily based on agriculture, with crops such as yams, taro, and fruits being grown. Forestry also plays a role in the local economy.

Angaha offers opportunities for ecotourism due to its proximity to ʻEua National Park and various natural attractions such as the 'Ovava tree, natural land bridges, and cliffside views. These attractions draw visitors interested in hiking and exploring the unique landscape of ʻEua.

Transportation to and from Angaha is typically by road, connecting it to other villages on the island and the main harbor and airport. The village maintains a traditional Tongan lifestyle with strong community ties and cultural practices.
