The Rambler (film)
The Rambler is a 2013 American crime horror film directed by Calvin Reeder. It is based on Reeder's 2008 short film of the same name. The film stars Dermot Mulroney as the titular Rambler, a man recently released from prison who stumbles upon a series of bizarre and violent encounters as he travels across the country. He is given a mysterious package to deliver and, in the process, becomes entangled in a disturbing conspiracy involving murder, experimental film, and mind control. The film's narrative is deliberately fragmented and surreal, prioritizing atmosphere and visual style over a straightforward plot. Other notable actors in the film include Lindsay Pulsipher, Nate Mooney, Natasha Lyonne, and James Cady. The Rambler premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. Its reception was mixed, with some critics praising its unique and unsettling tone while others found its lack of narrative coherence to be a significant flaw.
