Caught in the Rain (film)
Caught in the Rain is a 1914 American comedy short film written, directed by, and starring Charlie Chaplin. It was Chaplin's fourth film for the Keystone Studios.
The film revolves around a flirtatious gentleman (Chaplin) who finds himself embroiled in a romantic triangle involving a husband and wife. The plot is set against the backdrop of a park where, during a downpour, comedic chaos ensues as the characters seek shelter and engage in slapstick antics. The film utilizes classic Keystone comedy tropes, including exaggerated physical humor, mistaken identities, and romantic misunderstandings. Chaplin's Tramp character, though less refined than in later works, is central to the comedic action, creating much of the disturbance and ultimately escaping the consequences of his actions.
