Carnaross

Carnaross is a small village and townland located in County Meath, Ireland. It lies in the civil parish of Killallon and the barony of Fore. The village is situated on the R154 regional road, approximately 10 kilometers northeast of Kells. Historically, Carnaross served as a local agricultural center. The name "Carnaross" is derived from the Irish Carn an Rosa, meaning "cairn of the wood." The village is notable for its weekly livestock mart, which attracts farmers and buyers from a wide surrounding area.
