Queen Elizabeth (band)
Queen Elizabeth was a Japanese noise rock band active primarily in the 1990s. The group was known for their intensely loud and abrasive sound, often employing extreme feedback and distortion. They are generally considered a part of the Japanoise scene, although their music also incorporated elements of hard rock and psychedelia. The band's lineup was not consistently stable, with core members being augmented by various collaborators over the years. Queen Elizabeth released a number of albums and singles on independent labels, gaining a cult following within the noise music community. Their work is characterized by its uncompromising sonic assault and unconventional song structures. While their output is relatively obscure compared to some of their contemporaries, Queen Elizabeth remains a notable name in the history of Japanese noise rock.
