Carlos González (baseball)
Carlos Eduardo González (born October 17, 1985), commonly known as CarGo, is a Venezuelan former professional baseball outfielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Oakland Athletics, Colorado Rockies, Cleveland Indians, and Chicago Cubs.
González was signed by the Arizona Diamondbacks as an amateur free agent in 2002. He was traded to the Oakland Athletics in 2007, and then to the Colorado Rockies after only one season in Oakland.
He is best known for his time with the Colorado Rockies, where he established himself as one of the league's premier offensive players. With the Rockies, González won the National League batting title in 2010, and he was a three-time All-Star (2012, 2013, 2016) and a three-time Gold Glove Award winner (2010, 2012, 2013). He also won two Silver Slugger Awards (2010, 2015). He was known for his combination of power, speed, and defensive ability.
After leaving the Rockies, González played briefly with the Cleveland Indians and the Chicago Cubs before retiring from professional baseball.
