NSB El 8

The NSB El 8 was a class of electric locomotives used by the Norwegian State Railways (Norwegian: Norges Statsbaner, NSB) from 1940 to 1988. These locomotives were primarily used for passenger services on the Oslo–Bergen Railway (Bergensbanen), and also operated on other lines. They were built by Thune in collaboration with Brown, Boveri & Cie (BBC). The El 8 locomotives were notable for their robust construction and reliability in the harsh Norwegian climate. The class consisted of only two units, numbered 2091 and 2092. After withdrawal from service, locomotive 2091 was preserved by the Norwegian Railway Club.
