Odrecillo
An odrecillo (Spanish diminutive of odre) is a small wineskin, typically made of goatskin, used for carrying liquids, especially wine or water. It is smaller and more portable than a traditional odre. Historically, odrecillos were common in rural Spain and other Mediterranean countries, often used by travelers, shepherds, and laborers to transport beverages. The odrecillo typically has a narrow neck with a stopper or cap to prevent leakage. The animal skin imparts a subtle flavor to the liquid stored inside, which is sometimes considered desirable. While less common today due to the availability of modern containers, odrecillos are still used in some traditional contexts and can be found as tourist souvenirs.
