Carl Orff

Orff is particularly renowned for his innovative approach to music education, known as the Orff Schulwerk, or Orff Approach. This method emphasizes active music-making through singing, movement, playing percussion instruments (especially xylophones, metallophones, and glockenspiels), and improvisation. The Orff Approach is designed to be accessible to children of all abilities and fosters creativity, teamwork, and a love of music. The Schulwerk utilizes specially designed instruments, often referred to as "Orff instruments," which are diatonic and relatively easy to play.
