Capitol Conference (Wisconsin)

The Capitol Conference is a high school athletic conference in southern Wisconsin, comprised of schools primarily located in Dane and Jefferson counties. The conference is a member of the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA). The Capitol Conference sponsors competitions in a variety of sports for both boys and girls, including but not limited to football, basketball, volleyball, track and field, cross country, soccer, baseball, softball, wrestling, golf, and swimming.

The conference is known for its competitive balance and the strong athletic programs of its member schools. The conference's membership has changed over time due to school district consolidations, population shifts, and other factors.

The Capitol Conference is generally divided into two divisions based on school size for some sports, such as football and basketball, allowing for more equitable competition. The specific division alignment can vary from year to year. The conference champions in each sport and division, where applicable, typically advance to WIAA regional and sectional tournaments.

Further information, including current member schools and specific conference rules, can be found on the WIAA website or the official Capitol Conference website (if one exists).
