Silte (woreda)

Silte (woreda) is one of the woredas in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region (SNNPR) of Ethiopia. It is named after the Silte people, who inhabit the area. Part of the Silt'e Zone, Silte woreda is bordered on the south by Lanfro, on the west by Misrak Azernet Berbere, on the north by Alicho Wuriro, and on the east by Worabe. The administrative center of Silte woreda is Wulbareg.

This woreda is known for its agricultural production, including crops such as teff, wheat, and barley, as well as livestock rearing. Its economy is largely based on agriculture.

The Silte woreda is also inhabited by other ethnic groups alongside the Silte, although they form the majority. The population is predominantly Muslim. Infrastructure within the woreda includes roads, schools, and health facilities, although challenges related to access and quality persist.
