Laura Gómez (speed skater)

Laura Gómez Quintero (born July 17, 1990) is a Colombian speed skater and track cyclist. Primarily known for her achievements in speed skating, Gómez has represented Colombia in both inline speed skating and ice speed skating, achieving significant success in both disciplines.

Gómez began her sporting career in inline speed skating, becoming a multiple-time medalist at the World Inline Speed Skating Championships. She transitioned to ice speed skating to further her athletic career and compete at the Winter Olympics.

In ice speed skating, Gómez has participated in the Winter Olympic Games, representing Colombia in the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics and the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. She competes in various distances, including the 1000m, 1500m, and mass start events.

Beyond speed skating, Gómez also competes in track cycling. Her diverse athletic background makes her a notable figure in Colombian sports. Her accomplishments have contributed to the growth and recognition of both speed skating and cycling within Colombia.

She is a national record holder for Colombia in multiple speed skating distances.
