Caligola (music project)
Caligola was a Swedish music collective and project fronted by the members of the bands Mando Diao and The Sounds. The project was active primarily around 2012 and known for its diverse musical styles and theatrical presentation.
The core members of Caligola were Björn Dixgård and Gustaf Norén of Mando Diao, and Maja Ivarsson of The Sounds. Additional musicians and collaborators contributed to the project, resulting in a shifting lineup and a broad range of sonic influences.
Caligola released one full-length album, "Back to Earth," in 2012. The album featured a mix of genres, including rock, pop, electronic, and orchestral elements. The project's live performances were characterized by elaborate stage costumes and a dramatic, theatrical atmosphere.
After the release of "Back to Earth," Caligola became inactive, with members returning to their primary bands and pursuing individual projects. While the project has not been formally disbanded, there have been no new releases or performances since its initial period of activity.
