Cadole

A cadole (sometimes spelled cadoille) is a small, rudimentary shelter or hut, typically found in vineyards in the Burgundy region of France. These dry stone structures provided temporary refuge for vineyard workers, offering protection from the elements such as rain, wind, and sun.

Cadole construction generally involves using locally sourced stones without mortar. The design is often simple, featuring a small entrance and a corbelled roof, creating a stable and weatherproof enclosure. The size of a cadole is usually limited, accommodating only a few people.
